Chinese New Year Craft – 財神 God of Fortune

Today in one of my Kindergarten playgroups:

I taught the kids to make a 財神 (God of Fortune ) using a few simple items. I have a lot of plastic cutlery from having takeaways. I used a spoon for the body, red construction paper (or felt) for the hat, black felt (or construction paper) for the moustache, and pipe cleaners for the arms.

The kids had so much fun making it. I love how each of them designed their own version. Some added legs too. One of them had white moustache instead of black colour. The other 財神 can fly! They laughed so much with their silly ideas. I love them all.
