Tiu Keng Leng

The Tseung Kwan O area (Tiu Keng Leng, Tseung Kwan O, Hang Hau, and Po Lam) is a very kids friendly neighbourhood.

If you would like to spend a free (money wise), easy, relaxing afternoon with your kids you can come and visit Tiu Keng Leng.

There are several things you can do.

Tiu Keng Leng Children’s playground

There are two small playgrounds, one for 2 – 5 years old, one for 5 – 12 years old. The play structures are relatively new.

This is the 2-5 years old playground

Tiu Keng Leng Public Library

This library has a fantastic children’s section located on the ground floor. Not only it is new (opened in 2015) but it is also relatively big (compared to Tseung Kwan O Public Library in Po Lam). There is a wide selection of Chinese and English books, and a soft area for kids and parents to sit comfortably to read.

Tiu Keng Leng Indoor Playroom

We went to this playroom many times since it was opened in 2015, it is one of our favourite places to go when J was a toddler learning to walk.

It is beautifully designed with under water world theme. It is not huge but offers a good range of activities for young toddlers and children to play and explore. There are also 1 boy and 1 girl’s toilet inside the playroom.

It is not very busy during weekdays before 4pm. But please be aware of long queues on weekdays AFTER 4pm and during the weekends.

Extra info:

  1. You can easily spend 3-4 hours in Tiu Keng Leng if you would like to play and go to all these places recommended in this post. My advice is check the sessions for the playroom first before you go.
  2. There is plenty of food options in the neighbourhood for example, “Park Central” shopping mall which is 5 mins walk.
